Phyllis Harbinger, FASID, CID
Principal
Phyllis Harbinger started DCI Studio in 1993, servicing both commercial and residential clients worldwide. The combination of commercial and residential projects, along with the variety of locales and clients’ styles, creates a spark that fuels her creativity. Phyllis is also a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner, which enables her to integrate Eastern methods and theories of design and balance into her practice.
Phyllis is NCIDQ certified, a fellow and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. She has served as President of the NY Metro Chapter and as the Chair of the Chapter Support Team on the National level for ASID. She is also a tenured Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City.
As a result of the work produced by her award-winning firm, she published her first book. The Interior Design Productivity Toolbox, streamlines the processes and systems for Interior Designers, Students and the Design/Build community, through a series of comprehensive checklists. The book is now available on Amazon.com, Wiley.com, and local bookstores as well.
As a direct result of the success of the book, Phyllis launched Harbinger Design and Business Consulting, to further her work with Designers and the Design/Build Community, consulting with entrepreneurs and providing a unique set of tools with which they can grow and manage their firms.
She has also been speaking across the globe and has three CEU presentations in addition to moderating panel discussions at High Point and other Design Markets.

Ewa Ansaldi
Project Manager & Designer
A Fashion Institute of Technology graduate with 17 years of design experience, Ewa brings precision and vision to every DCI Studio project. Her background includes working in design and architectural firms in New York City and Westchester County.
As Project Manager and Designer, Ewa orchestrates complex projects with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion. Working alongside our Principal, she manages client relationships and vendor partnerships while overseeing the intricate details that make each project exceptional. Her thorough approach and dedication to excellence make her an invaluable member of the DCI Studio team.

Yasemin Turckan
SPECIAL PROJECTS DESIGNER
Yasemin has been an invaluable member of the DCI Studio team, offering essential support across all phases of our design projects. Working closely with both our Principal and Project Manager, she plays a key role in materiality sourcing and selections, meticulously manages order tracking, and ensures quality control through detailed delivery inspections, helping maintain the highest standards in every project.
Her advanced technical skills in CAD drawings, combined with a sharp eye for detail, greatly enhance the precision and success of our project execution. Beyond her technical expertise, Yasemin brings a positive, collaborative spirit to the team, making her a joy to work alongside. She remains committed to expanding her design knowledge and continues to refine her skills, all while contributing to the firm’s ongoing pursuit of design excellence.

Lexi Bacani
Junior Designer
Lexi joined DCI Studio in 2023 after distinguishing herself as an exceptional student in Principal Phyllis Harbinger's Interior Design Studio at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Since earning her Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design in 2025, she has continued to grow into her role as a Junior Designer, bringing both technical expertise and creative insight to every project.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite, Lexi contributes throughout the design process, from concept development and space planning to material selections, construction documentation, and presentation renderings. Her exceptional visualization skills, keen attention to detail, and thoughtful approach help transform design concepts into beautifully resolved interiors.
Known for her professionalism, collaborative nature, and positive attitude, Lexi is a valued member of the DCI Studio team. Her ability to balance creativity with precision, coupled with her commitment to continuous growth, makes her an important contributor to the successful execution of our projects.

Danielle Feldman
Design Assistant
Danielle became part of the DCI Team in the summer of 2023, following her success as a top student in Phyllis' classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She assists the team with project sourcing at the D&D Building and oversees on-site quality control and logistics during deliveries and inspections. Danielle applies her growing expertise to support both the DCI Studio team and our clients.

Rachel Simons
Design Assistant
Rachel began her design career after earning her Associate's degree and relocating to New York to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where she studied under DCI Studio Principal, Phyllis. She joined DCI Studio in August 2025 and has quickly become a valued member of our team, contributing to a wide range of residential design projects.
Poised, professional, and naturally engaging with clients, Rachel brings warmth, curiosity, and a collaborative spirit to every project. As interior design is her second career, she approaches each opportunity with dedication, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for learning. Her fresh perspective, strong work ethic, and growing expertise make her an integral part of our team, and we look forward to watching her continued growth as a design professional.

Emma Tessler
Social Media & Marketing Coordinator
Emma's journey with DCI Studio began in 2014 as an intern while studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After graduation, she took charge of our digital presence, successfully expanding our online visibility across all platforms by over 300 percent.
An experienced designer, Emma's long-standing relationship with DCI Studio and comprehensive industry knowledge make her integral to our marketing initiatives and team success.
